Hecht Warehouse District Has Restaurant Permits Issued for 3-Concept Project

Permits have been issued for a major restaurant initiative at the Hecht Warehouse District project by Douglas Development. The space will include seating for 185.  The 3 restaurants will be by Ari Gejdenson of Mindful Restaurants.  The 3 concepts will be Ari’s Diner, Dock FC (soccer-themed) and La Purta Verde (Mexican).

Here’s the breakdown on the dining concepts from prior presentations to the city.

Dock FC Restaurateur Ari Gejdenson, owner of the Mindful Restaurant Group, has opened Ghibellina, Acqua al 2, Harold Black, Sotto and Denson in Washington, DC to critical acclaim. At this warehouse tavern, soccer fans can pull up a bar stool or lounge on leather couches to catch their pick of soccer games being broadcast from around the world.

Ari’s Diner Ari’s Diner will have its American debute on New York Avenue. Patrons can sit and have a cup of coffee while they watch their eggs sizzle on the griddle at the 16-seat counter. The diner will also serve as the first site of Mindful Restaurants’ first training school.

La Puerta Verde Taking guests beyond typical nachos and burritos, this restaurant will feature authentic Mexican cuisine representing a variety of regions highlighting their native ingredients. Guests can expect to see fresh, handmade tortillas sizzling on the griddle in a lively, effervescent atmosphere.

Other coming retailers and restaurants include BicycleSpace, Ivy City Bikram Yogam, CrossFit Hierarchy, MOM’s Organic Market, the Nike Factory Store, Ulta, Hyphen Art Gallery, Planet Fitness and a Louisiana-themed bar from Bedrock Billiards’ Geoff Dawson.
