Our 2016 Year in Review


Our 2016 year in review is also a preview of things to come for UrbanLand Company in 2017.

Our in-house leads pipeline for our agents, the Agent Leads Generation Program, reached new milestones. Besides new enhanced training and a switch to an enterprise-level CRM, the Agent Leads Generation Program produced leads that resulted in 52 closed transactions for a total of $16.3 million in real estate transactions. “Our Leads Generation Program is firing on all cylinders, with milestones occurring in 2016 that included receiving our 2,000th for DC Open Doors homebuyer assistance. Our agents are producing more and more activity off of our lead flow. The future looks bright both in 2017 and for the long-term for the brokerage,” commented Gerard DiRuggiero, Principal Broker of UrbanLand Company.

The year finished out in a lot of ways just like 2015 ended. Just like in 2015, we hit the holiday stretch with an additional office site under contract for purchase. “We purchased 1020 Bladensburg Road, NE in Trinidad as our new Northeast DC location in late 2015 and are finalizing the interior,” said DiRuggiero. “We did it again in 2016 with the purchase of a commercial building in the heart of Baltimore’s Hampden neighborhood. We settled on 1/5/2017 on the building and are starting the buildout immediately!”

We’re now an owner on The Avenue in Hampden, right near Johns Hopkins University and a ton of great Baltimore attractions…including a ton of interesting residential neighborhoods. We’ve purchased a Victorian commercial building on a strip of eateries, shops, cool retail and more. Renovations start immediately with a planned opening this Spring.

This 2,200+ sq. ft. building in Trinidad will soon be our 2nd DC location and our Northeast office. The office will also service Prince George’s County brokerage activities. Interior buildout is almost complete – we made it through drywall and lighting during the Christmas holiday week.  This office has a planned opening date of Spring as well!

“We’re growing organically and continue our strategy of owning all of our brokerage office space,” commented DiRuggiero. “Successful initiatives like our Free Home Buying Workshops require custom space and the ability to fully control what we do at each of our sites. Each of our brokerage offices is an investment in its own right and we love to become active parts of new emerging zones.”
