Wisconsin Avenue Getting A Wegmans

Popular grocery chain Wegmans will be in fact coming to DC. The New York based company will be officially anchoring the new development project slated on the site of the Fannie Mae headquarters at 3900 Wisconsin Avenue, NW. The official announcement occurred over the weekend after months of rumors about the new store anchor.

The store will be approximately 80,000 sq. ft. and will also include a restaurant operated by the grocer.

Developers of the project are Japanese firm Sekisui House partnered with Roadside Development. No firm timelines are in place for the opening of Wegmans or the completion of the redevelopment surrounding it.

Great things can happen for homeowners when a major grocery brand pops up in the neighborhood. This older ULC Blog post highlights exciting value acceleration triggered by major brands!
