UrbanLand Company Buys 2nd Office Location On Bladensburg Road, NE

UrbanLand Company, a diversified real estate brokerage based in Washington, D.C. in the U Street Corridor, has purchased an existing building in the Bladensburg Road / H Street Corridor.

The space will serve as an additional real estate office servicing Northeast, Prince George’s County and Baltimore brokerage activity. The building will also act as additional educational space for the firm’s Free Home Buyer Workshops.

“Acquiring this site and building was a major strategic move for our brokerage,” said Gerard DiRuggiero, Principal Broker of UrbanLand Company.  “We’re in growth mode at the brokerage and initiatives like our Free Home Buyer Workshops are producing a stream of regular buyer transactions for our agents. Adding a Northeast office gives us a foothold in a neighborhood that we’re happy to invest in. There is huge potential in this zone as H Street’s boom spreads. ”

The building was purchased in December, 2015 by the brokerage. The address is 1020 Bladensburg Road, NE. It is a 2,200 sq. ft. brick structure with high ceilings that has served as an auto repair facility in the past.

The Workshops are a key part of UrbanLand Company’s Agent Leads Generation program, a source of in-house leads for the firm’s agents. “The Workshops are a phenomenal client source for our agents. We do over 100 free sessions of useful buyer education with the public per year, and this consistency and accessibility draws in the serious first time buyers,” said Gerard.

Those we meet through our Workshops and knowledge of financing programs have produced over $19.3 million in 1st time home buyer sales in 2014 and 2015 from our Shaw location. To date for 2016 includes 23 homes for a total of $7.84 million.

The new office and Workshops space will also play a community role. The facility will be available for neighborhood organizations and plans are in place to showcase local artists within dedicated space. “This area is going to explode just like Shaw, and the neighborhood needs public-oriented businesses that add value early. We’re planning to be an active part of the surrounding community from the minute we open up.”

Permitting is underway and buildout on the space will begin soon. UrbanLand Company is licensed in DC, Maryland and Virginia.
