Nordstrom Rack Selects Baltimore’s Canton Crossing for 32,500 Sq. Ft. Store

It’s not just homebuyers and realtors who seek out deals. Nordstrom’s bargain outlet division, Nordstrom Rack, is banking on that downtown Baltimore residents want access to deals on their favorite Nordstrom fashions. They’ll be opening a 32,500 sq. ft. store in The Shops at Canton Crossing II at 3501 Boston Street in Baltimore.

Phase II of Canton Crossing is underway, and along with it comes 90,000 sq. ft. of new retail. Nordstrom Rack joins anchors Target and Harris Teeter in the project. Nordstrom Rack and Phase II are expected to be complete in Spring 2019.

This will be the 6th Nordstrom Rack to come to Maryland and the first for Baltimore City. Other locations just outside Baltimore City are in Towson and Columbia.

The BizJournals also reports that plans are being laid for $1 billion in waterfront development next to the Canton Crossing office tower. Rough plans call for 10 acres of development, 1.1 million sq. ft. of Class A office space and a 400′ tall residential tower. No timelines yet – quotes say that the Corporate Office Properties Trust behind the plans are uncertain when ground will break as they are “watching the market.”
