Free DC Condo Home Buyer Workshops

Want to stop renting and own your own condo? There are relatively inexpensive studio, 1 bedroom and 2 bedroom condominiums available in nice neighborhoods all over the place – taking steps to make the move now to ownership lets you lock in super-low 30 year mortgage interest rates.

UrbanLand Company offers twice weekly free Home Buyer Workshops for local home shoppers who want to understand and navigate the pathway to ownership in the DC/MD/VA marketplace.  Here’s the current calendar of events. RSVP here, or on each event’s page!

“Rates are at 3.54% for 30 year mortgages, up slightly from 3.47% last week. That is simply an insanely low rate for those who have down payment funds and strong credit,” said Gerard DiRuggiero, Principal Broker of UrbanLand Company. “Even for those who are using down payment assistance or FHA, the rates are still super low!”

Taking advantage of low interest rates is one of several reasons to check out first time home buying ASAP. Other reasons are the rising rents across the city and the fact that home prices are also increasing regularly. “Getting started now in building equity is essential. You’re looking at potentially very nice short to medium term value appreciation in places all over DC, for those who can decisively pull the trigger,” continued DiRuggiero.

Tuesday nights at 5:30pm is our After-Work Edition Workshop, with a fast-format introduction to opportunities and challenges facing first time buyers shopping in the $250,000 – $500,000 price range. We also are available Saturday mornings at 10am for our popular $0 Down First Time Buyer Workshop.

November’s remaining schedule is posted below. Workshops are currently held at our offices at 913 Florida Avenue, NW in the U Street Corridor. Attendance is always free. “Our guidance and advice is free of charge. We are real estate agents – our time and expertise is available to you free of charge until you actually successfully buy a home or condo! Come on by & bring a friend!”

Ask us about:

  • Down payment options available (from traditional 20% down loans to low down payment to 100% financing programs)
  • Understanding how down payments & loan options affect monthly mortgage payment amounts
  • Mortgage Pre-Qualification + understanding your true purchasing power & affordability
  • How to shop smart in the marketplace (agent-directed search + using our mobile app)
  • Finding top neighborhood values & spots for future appreciation
  • Buying new construction vs. resale vs. investment properties
  • What to expect from your real estate agent

Attendees of our Buyer Workshops have successfully purchased over $32 million of DC/MD properties from 2014 to present. Here’s a few of the condos & homes we helped Workshop attendees purchase recently. Check it out!
