One thing we discuss with every potential DC first time home buyer that walks into our Free Home Buyer Workshop is the possibility of moving into Maryland, particularly Prince George’s County. The condominium and townhome market just over the NE boundary in Maryland remains a somewhat still secret spot to buy inexpensive, nicely equipped homes. It’s a great spot to look in if you’re buying your first home to build equity or moving up from a one bedroom condo you already own.
“For the DC first time home buyer that is challenged by DC home prices and the monthly cost of living, going ‘over the line’ into Maryland is a smart move,” said Gerard DiRuggiero, Principal Broker of UrbanLand Company. “There are large townhomes all over this part of Maryland that represent attractive, turnkey move-ins. ”
