College Park Announces New 275 Unit Apartment Project Across From Campus

The University of Maryland is making even more progress toward its vision of a ‘more livable’ College Park community. A new 275 unit apartment community adjacent to campus and the M Square Research Park will break ground soon with construction estimated for completion in November, 2017.

Wood Partners plans to develop a 275 unit apartment community in College Park Maryland Washington Business Journal

The apartment project is being built to appeal to students, faculty, professionals and families. The new project will include a pool, dog walk area, secure garage, a study area, tech lounge, private meeting areas, conference and game rooms and a secure garage that even includes electric car charging stations.

This new project adds on to a growing list of College Park projects that include a 370 unit housing and retail community just announced, a 4 star hotel being constructed on campus itself, a limited service hotel near campus, and a Whole Foods anchored retail project that is already in progress.

“This is another prime example of a popular Prince George’s County area that is growing like crazy,” said Gerard DiRuggiero, Principal Broker of UrbanLand Company. “We’ve been on a Focus on Prince George’s County ever since the housing market began to recover overall in the DC area. County housing prices are still off quite a bit from their housing boom high levels. The County represents a place where home buyers can secure great condos, townhomes and single family homes with a lot of space for a far better price than they can purchase a home in DC. These new projects at College Park are just part of the great things happening in the county!”
