40 Unit Condo Approved For Mt. Vernon Triangle

The Historic Preservation Board (HPRB) for DC has granted conceptual approval to a planned 10 story new condo building to appear at 925 5th Street, NW in the Mount Vernon Triangle Historic District.

peebles-mvtThe project includes the restoration of a single-story standalone historic facade, propped up by wooden beams, that is currently at the address. Plans call for an additional nine story addition and a penthouse to be constructed atop the restored ground floor.

The units will be a mix of studios, one bedrooms, one bedroom plus dens, and two bedrooms. It is not clear whether the street level portion of the new building will include any retail component.  The project developer is Peebles Corporation.
